Investigation Reports (Marine) Home > PUBLICATIONS - Investigation Reports (Marine) Marine Accident and Incident Reports The objective of the investigation conducted by the Japan Transport Safety Board in accordance with the Act for Establishment of the Japan Transport Safety Board is to determine the causes of marine accidents and incidents and damage incidental to marine accidents, thereby preventing future accidents and incidents, and reducing damage. It is not the purpose of the investigation to apportion blame or liability. The English versions of these reports are translations of the Japanese original investigation reports. The text in Japanese versions shall prevail in the interpretation of the reports. The English versions of these reports have been translated and issued by the JTSB for reference purposes only. Not all investigation reports published by the JTSB are available in English.
