Participating in democratic processes through voting gives citizens a voice on issues that matter to them and a say in how, and by whom, their nation is governed. Supporting student civic engagement, including voter participation, is an integral part of Yale’s mission to educate aspiring leaders who will serve all sectors of society. The university is committed to providing nonpartisan resources to facilitate student voter education and turnout so that all eligible voters on campus can have their voices heard. At Yale, the Office of the Secretary and Vice President for University Life is responsible for spearheading student civic engagement efforts for Yale College, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and professional school students. This site provides students with nonpartisan information on voter registration, voting, and deadlines; election information; university policies and resources; and getting involved on campus and beyond. These resources are intended to make the voting process as easy and clear as possible, to support student civic engagement, and to help Yale reach the ambitious goal of 100 percent participation in national elections among students who are eligible to vote.
