Da Vinci has attracted great interest and positive feedback from the visitors at the event. Soon it will be used on the university campus. Da Vinci has a travel range of 100 km on one full charge, making it possible to goFamagusta - Nicosia direction for the cost of just 1 Turkish Lira. The vehicle is a single-seater,designed and manufactured for the modern and comfortable driving experience goal for the passenger."Da Vinci" is named after the painter, scientist, and engineer of the same name, Leonardo Da Vinci, who was much ahead of his time with his creativity and genius. It is the aim, to emphasize on the importance of creativity and thinking ahead in engineering, with this name chosen. It should be noted that, Da Vinci is the product of intense work and devotion from EMU students of EVDC, and not a product for sale, notmanufactured from a private company. New Electric Car from EVDC! EVDC's latest electric car design, Da Vinci,will be unveiled and on display at the EMUFall 2019-2020 Graduation Ceremony. "Da Vinci" gets its name from the famous scientist, engineer, and artist Leonardo Da Vinci, who had detailed plans fora three-wheeled, wind up, self-moving 'auto-mobile' which can be considered as the first 'robot'. EVDC's latest electric vehicle, which has competed in the 15th Efficiency Challenge of TUBITAK at Kocaeli, Turkey is now on display at the Central Lecture Halls. "Storm" Comes 5th at the Efficiency Challenge 2019! [Turkish below] After two days of races, the 15thEfficiency Challenge is finalized with the official results announced. EMU's Team ADA, on their third consecutive year climb up to the 5thplace scoring their best ever result. Eastern Mediterranean University remains the only university from T.R.N.C. competing in the event. The team has worked relentlessly for the competition, working day and night. This success would not have been possible without the support from the Rector's Office and various departments within the university. We offer all the services much gratitude. [Turkish below] We have settled in our paddock at the TOSFED Körfez Racing Circuit here in Kocaeli, Turkey where we came for the Tübitak 15thEfficiency Challenge is taking place under the TEKNOFEST scope this year. [Turkish below] As Team Ada we have sent our vehicle, Mediterranean Storm, designed and manufactured in-house within our university grounds, to Turkey as of yesterday to race at the 15th Efficiency Challenge. Team Ada, racing for Eastern Mediterranean University, is the only representative from T.R.N.C. for the third year in a row to participate at the TUBITAK’s Efficiency Challenge, which is held under the TEKNOFEST scope this year. Racing in the Electromobile category, Storm’s shell is made fully from carbon fiber, without any paint applied on. Efficiency Challenge racing week is to be held at the Kocaeli Körfez Racing Circuit again this year, beginning with registrations on 14th September and ending on 19th as the races finalized. Vehicles that are getting awarded will be displayed during TEKNOFEST taking place at the Istanbul Atatürk Airport between 20-22 September. Mediterranean Storm, designed and manufactured fully within the EVDC laboratories, is finally unveiled. The electric vehicle will compete at the 15th Efficiency Challenge organised by TUBITAK, between 14-19 September. Hosting Badreddine at EVDC! After having had three successful years at his college, Badreddine came to EVDC from Morocco as his school, G.S.Anisse, awarded him with full participation to our university's International Summer School Programme, staying between 7-20 July. Having a chance to observe our electric vehicle project's development over the years, Badreddine also witnessed our work as we prepare for the 15thEfficiency Challenge. EVDC Welcomed Visitors From Jordan High school student Omar Hazem and his teacher Omar Al Baker visited EVDC, comingfrom Hasad Al Tarbawy School inJordan. As the special guests of the EMU's International Office, they have spent two weeksobserving our manufacturing processes in our labs during July. Both of them took part in "F1 in schools", a student competition, where miniature F1 cars are made and are carbon dioxide powered. Their aim in this visit was to participate in the learning process and enjoy in doing so. We thankEMU's International Office, it's director Ozan Inamlikand his team members. STEAM Kids Visit EVDC! STEAM (Model Aircraft, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Educations were carried out by ITU TRNC Education and Research Campus with an inclusive education understanding with the aim of uniting engineering, science and technology, art and social sciences. Under this scope, EVDC hosted students of ages between 9-12 in July from ITU TRNC Education and Research Campus. We thank course coordinator Eda Can Doğanbay and Ozan Erbak of ITU Science Center and congratulate them on their work for the youth. Representing EMU at the43rd TRNCInternational Fair Organised by the Ministry of Economics and Energy, Team Ada of EVDC was awarded as for EMU. Stretching out to a 10-day-period, the event will host companies from TRNC, Turkey and other countries on site. Team Ada will represent EMU for the first three days of the event, displaying all three vehicles manufactured up to this date. We expect everyone interested in electric vehicles technology to see N.O.1, Z-Zero and Shark. All questions are welcomed! Visiting Şehit Zeki Salih Primary School As the first science experiments day we performed as a team were welcomed with great interest, we went on to perform at another primary school. We believe that every child is our future. We need to work hard to get them to grow into humans that think, question and are curious. Thus, experiments focused on solar energy, magnetism, forces and many more. Z-Zero and Shark were also with us, attracting kids' attention, having them learning about electric vehicles. The team, again, made great preparations and worked for the experiments to execute them successfully.
