Last updated 5 June 2026 Print or download Common issues Business you’re not associated with displaying in RAM When a business listed is: no longer operating – you need to cancel the Australian business number (ABN) still operating but you’re no longer the associate – you need to update the Australian Business Register (ABR) details. If the business is already linked in RAM, then you can update your details or cancel your ABN using ABR online servicesExternal Link. If you didn’t link the business online in RAM (you appear in RAM as a Government representative, Indirect associate or Responsible authority) you’ll also need to remove your authorisation for the business in RAM.  Unable to achieve a Standard or Strong Digital ID to link a business If you're unable to set up a Digital ID, such as myID, with a Standard or Strong identity strength, you won’t be able to link your business in RAM at this time. Alternatively, you can: Check if another principal authority can achieve a Standard or Strong Digital ID – they can link the business in RAM instead and authorise you to access some services as a Basic user. Contact the relevant service you want to access to find out about other options for your business – for example, using cloud-based Standard Business Reporting (SBR)-enabled software. Error messages Error message ‘No eligible businesses/records found' or 'All eligible businesses have been linked' Error codes: REB.BR.0312, REB.DV.0010 REB.BR0301, REB.BR.0314. If you can't find your business when trying to link your business online in RAM, this may be because: Your details need to be updated on the Australian Business Register (ABR)Opens in a new window. Error message ‘Relationship cannot be created for a cancelled party/entity’ or ‘Cannot update/add role for cancelled ABN’ Error codes: REB.BR.0003, REB.BR.0032, ROB.BR.0002, ROB.BR.0003 This error means your Australian business number (ABN) is not active. You should check that your ABN is active using ABN Lookup linkExternal Link. If your ABN has been cancelled, you will need to re-apply for an ABNExternal Link. Once your ABN has been reinstated, you can link your business in RAM. Error message ‘The details used to establish your Digital ID do not match’ Error code: REB.BR.0040 See Authorisation code has expired or is not working for assistance with this error. Error message ‘An authorisation already exists for this time period' Error code: REB.BR.0005 If you’re an Indirect associate, Responsible authority or Government representative, you may have received this error when either renewing or editing an authorisation. When renewing or editing your authorisation, you need to ensure that the end date of the current authorisation doesn’t overlap with the start date of any other authorisations for the same user for the business. To resolve this, check your existing authorisation in RAM and then change the end date of your renewal or edited authorisation so they do not overlap.
