The training approach also takes the perspective that gender statistics cuts across all fields of statistics and focuses on building capacity of statistical institutions to produce and disseminate core gender statistics and indicators and to improve coordination with users of gender statistics. << Online course >> 15 to 19 June 2026 | Daejeon, Republic of Korea Regional Course on Crime Statistics from a Gender Perspective Across Asia and the Pacific, violence against women and girls is taking increasingly complex and lethal forms—from gender-related killings(femicide/feminicide) to rapidly evolving technology-facilitated abuse—yet both remain insufficiently measured due to persistent gaps in definitions, reporting, and integrated data systems. 18 August to 03 October 2025 | online Crime Statistics from a Gender Perspective 3.0 This e-learning course introduces crime statistics from a gender perspective to produce reliable indicators to monitor the relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The course offers participants an opportunity to explore gender concepts and frameworks on SDG indicators relevant to crime and criminal justice statistics including gender-based SDG targets, with the overall aim of strengthening regional capacity in producing high-quality SDG indicator data and overall statistics, to inform policy decisions at national and international levels. 21 to 24 July 2025 | Seoul, Republic of Korea Regional Training Course on harnessing gender data for SDG monitoring, policy making and action Gender equality is a fundamental principle embedded within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is not only a standalone goal (SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls) but also a crosscutting topic that influences the achievement of the goals of the 2030 development agenda. 23 to 25 February 2025 | Dhaka, Bangladesh National Training on Gender Statistics for Monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), gender equality is not only a standalone goal but also one of the crosscutting universal values that underpin the SDGs and a necessary precondition for achieving the goals of the 2030 development agenda. Good quality, timely, comparable, and disaggregated gender data provide the evidence needed to measure progress towards achieving the gender-related SDG goals and targets. 14 to 17 October 2024 | Seoul, Republic of Korea Regional Training of Trainers on the Gender Statistics Training Curriculum for Monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) The Sub-Group on Gender Statistics Training (SGGST) was established in 2018 to support national statistics offices in the Asia-Pacific region to develop statistical capacities to effectively produce and use gender statistics for gender policy decisions, advocacy, and tracking progress of the sustainable development goals. This course introduces the crime statistics in relation to gender perspective to produce reliable and sufficient indicators to monitor relevant SDG. 18 to 22 November 2019 | Daejeon, Republic of Korea Regional Training Course on Monitoring the SDGs from Gender Perspectives The course will provide the opportunity for participants to learn concepts and frameworks on statistics and indicators related to SDG 5, with the overall aim to strengthen capacity to produce a set of statistics, including indicators, to inform gender policy decisions at the national and international levels. 10 to 13 December 2018 | Bangkok, Thailand Regional Workshop on Gender Statistics and SDG Indicators 5.a.1 and 5.a.2 The objective of this training is to raise awareness and build technical capacity of national experts in Asia and the Pacific in terms of the importance and uses of sex-disaggregated statistics in agriculture, and for compilation, use and reporting of SDG indicators 5.a.1 and 5.a.2.
