Caltech believes that qualified prospective and continuing students should not be prevented from attending Caltech because of financial concerns; the Institute offers comprehensive financial aid packages to make that possible. The types of aid available to students and their families include scholarships and grants, which are gifted to the recipient and are not paid back, and loans and work study support. Net price calculator Cost of attendance 2026-2027 Caltech Commitment Most students with family income of less than $100,000 (with typical assets) can expect a no-loan financial aid package that covers tuition, fees, housing, and food. Most students with family income of less than $200,000 (with typical assets) can expect an aid package that covers the tuition. Our team of dedicated professionals in the Office of Financial Aid is ready to assist you. If you are a new or returning undergraduate student, we can help you to understand the types of aid that are available to you, including grants, loans, and work-study; apply for financial aid; and provide access to important forms, publications, and dates. Caltech graduate students should visit the Graduate Studies Office for information on financial support and fellowships.
