Home - Australian Access Federation - Trust and Identity A seamless and secure national research ecosystem Trust and identity underpins every aspect of modern research — it is fundamental infrastructure that will create significant advances in outcomes for Australian researchers. The Australian Access Federation (AAF) has built a Trust and Identity Framework that includes common policies, standards and technologies so researchers can enjoy a more cohesive network of services. Through one username and password they will be able to seamlessly access multiple national research capabilities. Benefits Seamless access Access and identity verification that makes accessing data easier and faster across instrument, analysis and compute offerings. Enhanced cyber security Ensuring that our national research is safe and secure is a critical step towards protecting it against future cyber security risks and foreign interference. Global connectivity Through partnering with industry and global trusted identity providers, future collaboration will be enhanced. Industry access Enabling better access to research infrastructure for industry, supporting enhanced translation. Multidisciplinary research Researchers are able to solve complex research problems by collaborating at scale across disciplines. How we can help you We are partnering with national research infrastructures to enable access by researchers, industry and government. National Research Infrastructure AAF is partnering with national research infrastructure to develop a system-wide, seamless and secure approach to access. Learn more Higher Education Many national research infrastructure are distributed throughout Australia’s universities, and we can work with your IT team and them, to enable access to those services and facilities. Learn more Industry A consistent and easy way in which to access research infrastructure will enable collaboration between industry and researchers, supporting research development and commercialisation. Learn more Researchers AAF are exploring with the national research infrastructure community, how we can enable access to the valuable services, technologies, data and computational power. Learn more Meet our Incubators National Imaging Facility AAF has partnered with the National Imaging Facility (NIF) exploring improved access and collaboration for complex multi-site human imaging projects and medical trials using sensitive data. Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre AAF has partnered with the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre exploring options to provide seamless and secure access to their supercomputing service using federated identities. Microscopy Australia AAF has partnered with Microscopy Australia exploring impact tracking through persistent identifiers (PIDs). ACCESS-NRI . AAF has partnered with ACCESS-NRI exploring seamless access, and a solution that can improve usage tracking across all resources. NCI Australia AAF has partnered with NCI Australia exploring options to provide seamless and secure access to their supercomputing service. Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) AAF has partnered with ARDC to ensure the trust and identity policies and technologies support researchers across distributed infrastructures and research communities. Astronomy Australia . AAF has partnered with Astronomy Australia to produce a Trust and Identity Roadmap, which will then help them build an Astronomy Data Commons. Phenomics Australia AAF has partnered with Phenomics Australia to enable access that makes research faster, easier, and more connected.
