SURF SMART is a program that enables doctoral students to create mentored research opportunities for undergraduate students at UC Berkeley. The program provides summer funding for both graduate and undergraduate participants. Graduate Applicants | Undergraduate Applicants Why Support SURF SMART? Gifts to the SURF SMART program are more than matched by University contributions. Each team’s sponsorship provides stipends of up to $5,000 to graduate mentors and $5,000 to undergraduate mentees.
