The Deep Synoptic Array (DSA) will be a cutting-edge radio telescope array consisting of 1650 dishes in a radio-quiet valley in Nevada. In its five-year initial survey, the DSA will survey the sky much faster than any radio telescope, current or planned, and detect over 1 billion sources.

The array will produce images and transient alerts in real-time, and will rapidly release science-ready data products to the astronomical community. Explore SCIENCE TECH SITE COMMUNITY Caltech has led the development of the DSA project through funding from Schmidt Sciences. Key science goals have been developed in collaboration with the broader astronomical community and respond directly to priorities identified in the Astro2020 Decadal Survey. The project draws on the significant heritage of the NSF-funded DSA-110 and OVRO-LWA projects. The Deep Synoptic Array is part of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Observatory System.
