In 2006, the Library moved into the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre and established the UTM Archive on the fourth floor to hold the archives and special collections in support of curricula and research on campus. In 2021, the Library opened its Reading Room to support access to its rare and unique holdings for students, faculty, staff, and community researchers. The mandate of the UTM Library, Archives and Special Collections is to acquire, preserve, arrange, describe, and provide access to rare and unique material that supports curricula and research at the UTM. It works cooperatively with the University of Toronto Archives & Records Management Services (UTARMS) to preserve and provide access to material that documents the history of the UTM campus and community.
