Join lively debates exploring the origins of life, dive into the wonders of our oceans, uncover the science behind Hollywood myths, or join us off campus and out in the community at Science in the Swamp and Science in the Scrub. With exhibitions, talks and events throughout August, National Science Week at UNSW offers countless opportunities to engage with the discoveries, ideas and conversations shaping our future. Events 16 Aug 10.00am 3.00pm UNSW x Science in the Swamp UNSW goes off campus for National Science Week 2026, bringing a day of hands-on science, discovery and fun to Centennial Park. 18 Aug 5.30pm 8.00pm Under Southern Skies: Stargazing Evening Explore the night sky through telescopes, planetarium experiences and live astronomy. See planets, constellations and distant galaxies brought into focus. 19 Aug 6.00pm 7.30pm Where Marine Science Grows Five researchers, five minutes each, a lightning symposium on the partnerships driving marine science in NSW and beyond. 20 Aug 5.00pm 7.00pm Anatomy According to Hollywood Step inside the Museum of Human Disease this National Science Week for a fun and fact-filled journey through human anatomy on screen! Join us for a day of hands-on STEM discovery and fun in Western Sydney Parklands.
