The undergraduate team (PekingHSC 2024) from Peking University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, led by Liu Tao, Zou Xiaomin, Wang Yong and Lu Man from PKUHSC Office of Education, participated in the competition in France. The team stood out in the fierce competition on the anti-tumor track, won the gold medal again, and was nominated for the best tumor project, setting the best record since the founding of the PekingHSC team. 　　iGEM was founded by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2003 and has developed into the most influential international academic competition in the field of synthetic biology. It integrates the knowledge of life science, chemistry, mathematics, information science, engineering, computer science and other fields, and attracts participation from the world’s top universities including Harvard University, MIT, Stanford University, Tsinghua University and Peking University. Its extensive international influence has attracted attention from top academic journals such as Nature and Science , and the competition has been featured in media such as the BBC, making it the highest-level competitive platform in the field of global synthetic biology. 　　The PekingHSC 2024 team was composed of 22 PKU undergraduates from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Basic Medical Sciences, the School of Stomatology, and the School of Life Sciences. During the one-year preparation, the students motivated the team to explore the project from multiple perspectives.
