What is a Credit Information Provider Who can register for the Lender Area How to register as a Credit Information Provider Once Registered Please review the sections below for detailed guidance on registration requirements, your obligations under the Credit Reporting Act, and the resources available to you once registered. What is a Credit Information Provider Under the Credit Reporting Act 2013, a Credit Information Provider includes: Regulated financial services providers NAMA Local authorities Entities that provide credit, excluding central banks and pawnbrokers. The reporting obligations apply to over 600 lenders, such as banks, credit unions, local authorities, asset finance companies and high cost credit providers. If you've acquired a loan book from an Irish financial institution, these obligations also apply to you. Please note that registration applies only to your obligations under the Credit Reporting Act 2013. Who can register for the Lender Area To access the Lender Area, you must: Be a Credit Information Provider (Lender) as defined in the Credit Reporting Act. Possess a Provider Code and a Registration Number issued by the Central Bank. For more information, you can check the List of Credit Information Providers or make an enquiry if you've lost or never received your credentials. How to register as a Credit Information Provider To register as a Credit Information Provider, you must: Submit a registration enquiry Ensure the registered address of the entity, the names of the directors and contact email addresses are included in the notes section of the enquiry.
